About the Event

Fanda-Naach Is the latest play by Bhanu Bharti, one of the greatest theatre masters of India. The play is the distilled essence of his philosophy of life—celebrating the indomitable spirit of human will and the profound love between man and nature. Rare are those individuals who can sacrifice their own comfort to ensure the safety of others. Figures like Buddha, Kabir, and Gandhi belong to this rare lineage—people who cease to be merely individuals and become enduring institutions.

The central character of the play, the Guard, too, carries such a role, embodying a tradition larger than himself. The playwright voices with urgency his deep concern over humanity’s relentless exploitation of nature. The constant presence of a bird, alongside the other characters, lends the play an added depth of meaning. The Guard, now stripped of his position and confined to a small cell, holds continuous conversations with this bird.
